If thundering guitars could end poverty, the Global Citizen Festival would have accomplished its goal on Saturday, with
Neil Young,
Foo Fighters, the
Black Keys and more leading the way with a blistering "Rockin' in the Free World." An estimated 60,000 people crowded into New York City's Central Park for the largest syndicated charity concert in history, an effort by the Global Poverty Project to get more people involved in their efforts and to persuade world leaders to step up their efforts to help the impoverished.
