After retiring from LCD Soundsystem, James Murphy has participated in a variety of high profile new gigs, including producing for Arcade Fire working on a film with Ron Howard, and acting in Tim & Eric's The Comedy, which is in theaters on Nov. 9. Check out Murphy's chops in the trailer. Looks pretty interesting. [YouTube] In response to the ongoing EDM debate, techno legend Richie Hawtin and Loco Dice will be headlining the CNTRL:Beyond EDM tour, giving a series of daytime lectures at various North American universities followed by nightime performances with heavyweights like Carl Craig Kevin Saunderson, Seth Troxler and Josh Wink. Awesome. [FACT] Apparently Noel Gallagher blames Oasis for ending dance music's popularity in the U.K., a conclusion he reached after an all-nighter during this past Coachella. "We were up till seven o'clock in the morning, listening to those classic house tunes, going, 'Why did music have to change? Why couldn't it have stayed like this?' Then someone said, It's because of you! And I was, 'Yeah, sorry about that'." C'mon son. [EntertainmentWise]
