Retro-leaning Irish songstress
Imelda May has
given birth to her first child, Contact Music
reports. The singer and her husband, Darrel Higham, welcomed
Violet Kathleen Higham on Thursday, Aug. 23, and they quickly took to
Facebook to announce their "beautiful baby daughter." May, who's known for her pin-up-girl fashion sense and rockabilly-flavored recordings, has released three albums, the most recent of which,
Mayhem, arrived in 2010. She's collaborated with the likes of
Jeff Beck and
Bono, and last year, she
contributed a song to
Listen to Me: Buddy Holly, a star-studded compilation featuring
Ringo Starr,
Brian Wilson and
Stevie Nicks, among others.
